Our Sunday Music Program thrives under the leadership of our Music Director, Sara Godwin. On Sundays, we enjoy an eclectic mix of musical genres, from pop to jazz to rock to European classical and other classical, folk, and pop traditions from around the world. We are always on the lookout for vocal and instrumental talent within our ranks.
The UUCF Choir sings once a month, on varying Sundays. Rehearsals are held an hour and a half before the service and on a Wednesday evening preceding that Sunday, with scores and MIDI files emailed to choir members during the weeks before, so belonging to the choir is an easy commitment and a great way to join our Music Program. Just talk to Sara, our Music Director, if you are interested: musicdirector@uufresno.org.
Piano Accompaniment
Piano accompaniment is provided by a rotation of pianists, both professional and amateur. If you have talent and interest, let Sara, our Music Director know at musicdirector@uufresno.org.
Instrumental Soloists & Ensembles
A group of gifted musicians from our membership and youth perform as instrumental soloists and in ensembles.
Stolen Thunder (House Band)
Stolen Thunder, the UUCF house band, is a flexible group of versatile vocalists and instrumentalists who perform a wide range of musical styles, including folk, rock, pop, blues, jazz, bluegrass, country, Klezmer, reggae, R&B, and gospel. The band performs most Sundays and usually backs up the choir.
Congregational Singing
The congregation sings a wide range of songs and hymns whose content reflects our theological diversity and our respect for a broad range of cultural expression.
